Advancing Global Health
Damico Health is a global health organization with a permanent medical team in Uganda. We deliver surgery, palliative care, women's health and diagnostic imaging to patients who could not otherwise afford them, train the local providers who carry the work forward, and build free tools that help outreach teams anywhere deliver better care.
Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Led by Ugandan physicians. Our team lives and works in the communities it serves.
All donations go to care. Overhead, travel and equipment are paid for by our leadership.
Most patients who delay care do so because of cost
We asked patients what had kept them from getting care sooner. More than four in five named cost. About one in five named distance.
People will travel for care they trust and can afford. So we put our work into removing the cost, and into bringing surgeons and specialists to local facilities that patients can reach.
Damico Health patient survey, 72 responses. Patients could give more than one reason.
